Joel A. Schroeder, CVPM
Joel was raised in Kailua-Kona, HI. He attended Northern Virginia Community College and Old Dominion University, where he received degrees in General Studies and Industrial Technology, with core focuses in professional ethics and administrative leadership.
For the last 17 years, Joel has dedicated himself to the veterinary industry gaining extensive knowledge in various positions and practice profiles, including multi-location general medicine and emergency/specialty hospitals. He considers his career within the veterinary profession to be a satisfying and rewarding service, driven by a deep appreciation for the human-animal bond. His professional interests finance, marketing and human resource management/development.
Joel received the designation of CVPM (Certified Veterinary Practice Manager) in 2012. As a CVPM, he has achieved the industry's highest credential for practice management professionals, demonstrating experience, knowledge, and commitment to the pursuit of veterinary excellence.
Joel lives in Clarke County, VA. In his spare time he enjoys cooking, traveling, and various motor sport activities.
Kristin was born in South Carolina but was raised up and down the east coast as she was a child of the Navy. She came to Northern Virginia in 1997 when her dad retired from the Military. Kristin received her Associates in Business Administration from Northern Virginia Community College in 2011. She has always loved animals from a very early age with a dream of becoming a marine biologist, although life had different plans. Kristin joined North Oatlands in 2016. She currently lives in Front Royal and enjoys spending time with friends, camping and hanging out with her kids.
Licensed Veterinary Technician
Linda received her degree in Veterinary Technology from Northern Virginia Community College in May, 2012 fulfilling a lifelong dream of becoming a veterinary technician. She joined the DVAH staff Dec 3, 2012. Additionally, she has a BS degree in Wildlife/Fisheries Management from Frostburg State University. She lives in Bristow, VA with her husband, three children, yellow lab, cat, guinea pig, a mustang pony and fish.
In her spare time she enjoys reading, watching shows on her DVR (there is never enough time to catch up), going to dinner, movies, and wineries with her husband, Sean, and going on long walks with her lab, Shiloh. She loves being with her kids and all their various activates, including horseback riding, dance, cub scouts, and hockey, to name a few.
Linda's interests in veterinary medicine include dental radiography, cytology, and hematology. She is very excited about working at DVAH and can't wait to meet you all!
Licensed Veterinary Technician
Lori Mills is a Licensed Veterinary Technician that joined DVAH in October 2014. She graduated from St. Petersburg College in 1990 with an Associate in Science in Veterinary Technology. After graduating she joined a Small Animal, Avian and Exotic practice in Florida where she worked for 14 years as a Certified Technician and later advanced to Office Manager. Due to her Husband’s career taking them to multiple states and the desire to raise a family, Lori stepped away from the field for 10 years while keeping up her Certification through continuing education. After settling in Virginia shehas returned to the field and became Licensed in the State. Lori is so happy to be back doing the job she loves!
